Mexico's Government-University Partnership

According to Reuters, Pfizer began exporting COVID-19 vaccines produced at its Kalamazoo factory in Michigan to Mexico last week. It has so far shipped more than 10 million doses of vaccine to Mexico, becoming Mexico's largest vaccine supplier.

In response to the growing demand for vaccine storage, many universities in Mexico have partnered with the government to provide ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers that COVID-19 vaccines require. In the state of Aguascalientes, the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (UAA) has procured ten Haier Biomedical ULT freezers to store COVID-19 vaccines. The governor of the state, Martín Orozco Sandoval, said that the partnership with UAA can help the state store 3.5 million doses of vaccine, which means that the state can provide vaccines to local regions as quickly as possible.
